About us
At the beginning of 2004.,after 8 years of break,the Cultural Centre of Nova Varos with the support of Nova Varos Municipality,founded a children’s esemble to continue the tradition and success of the former K.U.D.(cultural-artistic society)”Inex-Napredak”.
In 1977.”Inex-Napredak”-a public enterprise established a folk-dance group aiming to present and develop the cultural inheritance through dances,songs,music and customs of all Yugoslav peoples.They put in their repertoire 23 choreographies from all over Yugoslavia using authentic costumes. Folk dances of extremely high quality,variety of rhythms and styles started many successful tours and concerts followed by the enthusiasm by the audience all over the globe and successive invitations for some new tours.
They made frequent tours to various international festivals abroad in such a way presenting the beaty and wealth of the national folklore gaining lots of rewards and prizes.Many tours it has been noted,were made to France,Italy,Germany,Poland,Greece,Russia… “Inex-Napredak” folk dance group was,then among the best gropus at the junction of three borders (Serbia,Bosnia and Herzegovina and Monte Negro)thanks to its achievements in artistic performances about which numerous of rewards by the inter-republic associations could be the evidences.
The Cultural centre ensemble continues the rich folklore tradition of our town.It gathers a lot of members aging from 7-17.They’ve formed a performing folk-dance group,a beginner’s group,a folklore school for children and a singing club.Although very young,it has improved in no time,putting 11 coreographies on stage.
The group has been very successful both in the region and abroad with plenty of concerts in a very short time.It has had a TV show on our national television which helped them get an invitation for a tour to “Children’s folklore festival” in Greece where they got a loud cheering from the audience. Thanks to all those achievements they got an invitation to “International folklore festival” in Vrsac in 2005.It was a great honour and pleasure competing with 9 groups from the country and abroad.
During the period of its existance the folk-dance group of the Cultural Centre has devoted its work to amateurism which has proved very fruitful. Programs,choreographies,members…have changed very often but the principal goal of all activities,developing friendliness among people through songs,dances and music,remained for good.In such a way it is and,will be proved that culture enriches human souls and erases all the borders among peoples in the world and brings joy for ever.
